Chloe Wong finds out five essential things to know about this superstar who continues to win hearts worldwide
She is of mixed heritage

If her last name didn’t make it apparent, Hoorne is of dual heritage, with her father hailing from Belgium and her mom from Thailand. She was born in Bangkok and finished her education by graduating from Rangsit University’s Faculty of Communication Arts. She also goes by Mai-Davika, a nickname given by her mother, after her favourite singer Mai Charoenpura.
She is a fashion girlie

Most know her for her work in shows like Heart Attack, My Ambulance, Twenty, and even for winning Best Actress at the Thai Film Director Association Awards. But Hoorne started as a model first. She has participated in the Big Four global fashion weeks - Tokyo Fashion Week in 2013, New York Fashion Week in 2017, Paris Fashion Week in 2018, and Milan Fashion Week in 2021. So it’s safe to say she has established herself as a global runway icon. Later in October 2023, she was appointed Gucci’s first-ever Thai ambassador, starring in several high-profile Gucci campaigns and walking in their Milan show.
She is a philanthropist

A golden girl with a golden heart, Hoorne has devoted herself to a variety of charitable causes. She has been a Friend of UNICEF since 2016, when she joined their Basket of Hope fundraising campaign to provide children with access to essential services like nutrition, education, and healthcare. Since then, she also participated in events to promote children’s development. In addition, she has spoken out about ivory consumption, joining WildAid as Thailand’s ambassador for the Ivory Free campaign.
She sings

Fans of her TV series My Ambulance might know that Hoorne herself sang the song “Heartbeat” for the show's soundtrack, which was the start of her music career. She has since released a string of her own songs, like “Mr. Daydream”, “Can I Call You Mine”, “Sugar Drop”, and “Sunset Sensory”.
She just got engaged

On June 12, 2025, Hoorne took to Instagram to share her engagement to actor and screenwriter Ter Chantavit. The couple had been together for seven years. They first met in 2013 while working on the horror-romance film Pee Mak. But they only started dating in 2018, with the pair starring together in a comedy-romance Chai Mai Jing Ying Tae (A Fake Tootsie) in 2017. Talk about romantic! We’re excitedly waiting to see their new chapter.
