#legend100does: Hot happenings in May 2025

May 07, 2025

We’ve asked our community for the hottest events they’ve marked down in their diaries this month. Be it art, food or entertainment, our plugged-in friends know what’s most happening

The Seaview Promenade near Repulse Bay is a great scenic trail for running. For food, I want to recommend Wanaka, which is my favorite vegan restaurant, located inside the historical Blue House in Wan Chai, serving good food with good vibes. Whisker N Paws in South Horizon is also a great spot for when I’m with my doggies. We’ll do some shopping and there’s also a café inside with a pet’s menu and vegan options available. Adoption day is every Sunday for those looking to add an extra member to their family. Last by not least, the Golden Scene Cinema in Kennedy Town is my favourite cinema. They have a nice film selection and comfy seats, and after you can take your pick from an array of lovely cafés in the neighbourhood.

I’ll be checking out the Hula Style Suite “In Transit” pop-up at The Upper House, which will be running until the 25th. They have three suites of curated fashion in the theme of travel, drawing inspiration from Paris, Capri and Tokyo. It’ll be a great place for hunting for some fab pre-loved pieces for the summer. I always want to recommend dinner at the newly opened Jean-Pierre, Blacksheep Restaurant group’s latest French bistro.

On the days that I’m free and feel like going out, I’ll first vist Little Cove Espresso in Kennedy Town for lunch before heading over to Tai Ping Shan Street for a drink or just to wander around. I really enjoy this area because it has a mix of everything. Nearby, you can immerse yourself in the vibrant culture and rich history of Hong Kong at the Man Mo Temple. Walk up from here and there are an array of Western coffee shops, as well as Hong Kong-style cha chaan tengs. After, I’ll make my way to the Central ferry pier, admiring the scenery while listening to music. If you’re travelling to Hong Kong for the first time, I highly recommend following this route as it offers a glimpse into everything Hong Kong has to offer.
