Becca Bloom (real name Rebecca Ma) is a TikTok influencer who has amassed millions of followers in just a few weeks after appearing on the algorithm. Chloe Wong shares some fun facts to satiate your curiosity on the #RichTok sensation

She's a Silicon Valley heiress

Ever wondered how she struck gold? Well, here’s your answer! Her dad, Simon Yiming Ma, and her mum, Heidi Chou, founded Camelot Information Systems, a software company. The company’s massive presence in China as well as other parts of the Asia Pacific region creates a solid background for her family’s financial success and comfortable living standards. Becca herself works a daytime job in fintech and her fiancé David Pownall works as a software engineer in Google. Safe to say she has enough income and financial abundance to fund her lavish lifestyle and purchases.

She's just a small town girl

She’s from a little town called Atherton. You may not have heard of this town in San Mateo County, which wanes in notoriety compared to Los Angelos or San Francisco. However, it is home to many Silicon Valley billionaires like Microsoft cofounder Paul Allen, HP CEO Meg Whitman, and Google chairman Eric Schmidt. The cost-of-living index estimates Atherton to be 252 percent of the national average, making it one of the most expensive cities in the United States.

She is unapologetically rich

If it isn’t already obvious, Bloom is very wealthy. While Emma Chamberlain went viral for being relatable, Bloom went viral for her unapologetic status of wealth, which is arguably not very relatable for the general public. Unlike Mei Leung, another TikTok influencer popular for flaunting her wealth, she isn’t obnoxiously shoving “how much I spent this week” videos down your throat. Her tone is calm and there is no over-exaggerated editing. Bloom’s videos resemble an unbelievably rich friend FaceTiming you from her walk-in closet filled with designer pieces and Van Cleef bracelets.

She is an animal lover

Her most popular video is of her plating her cat’s food In a video that now sits at 21 million views, Bloom is seen plating her cat’s breakfast, consisting of salmon sashimi and quail eggs, garnished with some salmon roe caviar. If the exorbitant food wasn’t enough to alarm you, her Scottish Fold cat eats from a Versace charger plate that costs upwards of HK$3,000. A charger plate is a decorative plate placed as a base for other plates, talk about extravagance! Her generosity doesn’t end at her cat, another one of her most popular videos includes the plating of her dog’s meal made by her personal chef, inclusive of purple rice, shredded chicken, free-range eggs, and bone broth.

She is beauty, she is grace

In this economy, many TikTok users are increasingly disillusioned seeing influencers at Coachella splurge on overinflated flight tickets and food. However, this sentiment doesn’t seem to extend to Bloom, with her followers admiring her fashion and grace instead. Her soft-spoken voice, marital status and glamorous dresses are reminiscent of a real life Disney Princess. She also adds a more personal touch by giving relationship advice, talking about her wedding journey, and bringing you along to her finance job, which creates a parasocial relationship with the viewers.
