Drawing from Schlumberger’s childhood memories growing up in a textile-making family in Alsace, France, Rope by Tiffany reimagines the textures of ropes, tassels, and woven threads. These familiar motifs are transformed into a work of wearable art that blends timeless elegance with 21st-century innovation.

This collection marks a milestone for Tiffany & Co. as Rope by Tiffany becomes the brand’s first solar-powered watch. Developed in collaboration with Swiss movement manufacturer La Joux-Perret, the timepiece features a semi-transparent dial, available in white mother-of-pearl or black lacquer, that discreetly houses a solar cell underneath. With just two minutes in sunlight, the mechanism can store enough energy for up to 24 hours of operation, and once fully charged, it remains functional for up to eight months, regardless of lighting conditions.

Aesthetic sophistication is also at the forefront. Crafted in 18K yellow gold, the timepieces are offered in two sizes; 27mm and 33mm, each encircled by polished twisted gold rope motifs divided by a gleaming diamond-set ring. The minute hand echoes the twisted rope design, showcasing the maison’s meticulous attention to detail.

The 27mm version features 38 brilliant-cut diamonds totalling approximately 0.52 carats, while the 33mm version is adorned with 39 diamonds weighing around 0.9 carats. On the case back, a finely engraved sun motif and a single diamond pay homage to the solar-powered heart of this exceptional creation.

Completing the look are high-quality alligator leather straps, offered in Tiffany Blue® for the white mother-of-pearl dial and classic black for the black lacquer dial. Each element, design, craftsmanship, and technology, has been carefully curated to reflect Tiffany & Co.’s vision of timekeeping elegance.
