Cartier unveils the En Équilibre high jewellery collection in Stockholm

The Maison hosted an exclusive gala dinner at the Artipelag museum, set amidst the serene waters and natural surroundings that reflect Sweden’s understated elegance. The En Équilibre collection draws its inspiration from the concept of “balance,” expressed through form, colour, material, and emotion, masterfully blending opulence with simplicity. It is guided by the Swedish philosophy of Lagom, which celebrates moderation, harmony, and the art of having “just enough”. Each creation reflects an architectural rhythm, with a design language that delicately balances symmetry with asymmetry, strength with softness.

The festivities commenced at Nacka Strandmässen, a historic venue where guests were welcomed to an exclusive exhibition of the En Équilibre collection. The exhibition itself beautifully married clean industrial design lines with the surrounding natural beauty, offering a fitting prelude to the craftsmanship on display. Attendees were treated to a rare behind-the-scenes demonstration of the meticulous artistry behind the Maison’s creations, most notably the Panthère Dentelée necklace, which showcased the remarkable finesse of Cartier’s master artisans.

Later that evening, distinguished guests were transported by boat to Artipelag for an enchanting celebration set in an environment where art and nature coexist in harmony. Among the guests of honour were Cartier Ambassadors Deepika Padukone and Anna Sawai, as well as Friends of the Maison including Zoe Saldaña and Alexander Skarsgård. Each made a striking impression adorned in exquisite pieces from the collection, and were part of a captivating tableaux vivants performance, a “living picture” presentation that combined couture from Giambattista Valli with the house’s high jewellery, bringing each scene to life in the most elegant of ways. The evening culminated in a spectacular gala dinner, accompanied by a live performance from Canadian rock band The Beaches and music by DJ Dorion Fiszel.

Standout creations featured during the event included the Hidaka earrings and necklace in 18k white gold, set with emeralds, spinels, and diamonds, as well as the Pavocelle necklace crafted in platinum with sapphires and diamonds. Anna Sawai adorned the Arcata set, comprising rubellites and diamonds, while Alexander Skarsgård wore the striking Panthère Kalahari brooch in platinum, yellow beryl, onyx, and yellow diamonds.

The unveiling of the En Équilibre collection not only reaffirmed Cartier’s unparalleled expertise in the realm of high jewellery design but also served as a poetic reflection of the philosophy of harmony that resonates throughout every detail, from the venue and atmosphere to the pieces themselves. Together, they enhanced the timeless appeal of Cartier in the eyes of connoisseurs and admirers of fine jewellery around the globe.
