"...Marking the final chapter of an era-defining collaboration, Louis Vuitton × Murakami Chapter 3 arrives as a playful, pop-infused tribute to the 20th anniversary of the maison’s iconic partnership with Japanese contemporary artist Takashi Murakami. Continuing the momentum of the highly sought-after re-edition collection, this concluding chapter celebrates the joy of summer with the return of Murakami’s endearing Cherry icon, accompanied by a vibrant campaign starring Louis Vuitton global ambassador Zendaya..."
Boasting over 70 exclusive pieces, the collection encompasses everything from bags and luggage to summer footwear, silk scarves, bag charms, and even a whimsically designed bicycle. At its heart lies the Cherry Icon, a pair of smiling, candy-coloured cherries perched on a vivid green stalk, reimagined through advanced application techniques and the Maison’s expert multi-step serigraphy, making it more alluring than ever.
One of the standout features is a new Monogram canvas in crisp white, serving as a fresh backdrop for the 3D-printed Cherry motif. The new design brings a glossy, juicy effect to beloved styles including The Speedy, The Alma, and The Side Trunk. The Capucines line also makes a charming return, adorned with metallic cherry embellishments and hidden cherry-themed zip pulls for an element of surprise and delight. Meanwhile, the denim capsule embroidered with cherries in bold blue hues appears on key items such as the Pochette Accessoires, Sunset, and Keepall 45, alongside summer-ready gifts like a decorative hand fan and a folding deck chair.
For footwear lovers, Chapter 3 doesn’t disappoint. From Monogram denim Cherry Romy ballerinas and Maya platform sandals to white cherry-embroidered sneakers and Bom Dia mules, each piece captures the essence of cheerful summer escapism. A new highlight is the debut of the Cherry 3D heel, introduced on the Cherie raffia mule and Lily denim sandal, combining style with sculptural charm. Complementing the look are silk squares with delicate cherry designs and playful bag charms that add a pop-art twist to any ensemble.
To bring the collection to life, photographers Inez and Vinoodh once again lens Zendaya amidst the sun-drenched Mediterranean Riviera, with surreal, oversized Cherries playfully punctuating each shot, transforming the campaign into a dreamlike homage to summer, style, and Murakami’s kaleidoscopic imagination.
As the final chapter in this celebrated series, Louis Vuitton × Murakami Chapter 3 reaffirms the enduring impact of the original collaboration, a pioneering fusion of fashion, art, and popular culture that continues to resonate across generations. It’s a powerful reminder that great design is timeless, and that iconic collaborations, when rooted in creativity and mutual respect, can transcend trends and live on as collectible legacies.
